Submissions open now for the Emerging Filmmakers Contest

Calling all northeast region filmmakers!

WRIF (White River Indie Films) is now accepting submissions to the Emerging Filmmakers segment of our 2025 in-person festival, hosted at the Briggs Opera House in White River Junction, VT, February 13 -16, 2025 in collaboration with JAM — Junction Arts & Media.

Rules & Terms & Eligibility

1. All self-identifying “emerging filmmakers” of any age who are residents of VT, NH, Maine and Québec are eligible to submit.

2. Film must be UNDER 15 minutes

3. All submissions should be in English or include English subtitles in order to be considered

4. Films cannot have screened in previous years of WRIF Emerging Filmmakers or in JAM’s Halloween-O-Thon

Awards & Prizes

In the spirit of fostering connections between local, emerging filmmakers and more established filmmakers, selected shorts will be screened before feature films playing at WRIF. Selected filmmakers will be notified of screening date/time prior to the festival in hopes that you can attend! Emerging filmmakers will also be awarded with cash prizes.
