Record Community Events

Do you like engaging author talks, compelling science lectures, melodious musical performances, exciting sporting events? Whatever the community event, JAM loves volunteers who love filming events that interest them. Since our small crew can’t be everywhere, we depend on volunteers to bring us footage from out in the community. Also, if you want to learn how to edit your footage, we can help you with that too. Volunteers must be 16 or older.

JAM provides you with field training and equipment to record and edit. If you are interested in becoming a community event videographer and/or editor, complete the form at the bottom of the page or contact cedar@uvjam.org

Volunteer at the White River Indie Film Festival

The White River Indie Film Festival, WRIF relies on the generous support of volunteers to run our box office and to keep JAM open to festival-goers during this annual event. Volunteers in turn are able to to see one WRIF movie per volunteer shift for free. Find out more about WRIF and view our festival line up here. To volunteer at WRIF, complete the form at the bottom of the page or contact cedar@uvjam.org. Volunteers must be 16 or older or accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult.

Help Out In Our Studio Office

JAM is open to the public from 9 AM – 5 PM Monday through Friday and for special events. Help us keep our gear inventoried, organize our media archives, assist with podcasts, and run public events and classes. Volunteers must be 16 or older.

Help the JAM crew with our production flow by editing a show or two…or three…or maybe four. We can teach you media management skills and edit shortcuts using Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere, and/or DaVinci Resolve.  Honing media job skills is an investment in yourself that benefits your community as well! Complete the form at the bottom of the page or contact cedar@uvjam.org

Produce Your Own Show!

Our favorite volunteer projects include community members who want to produce shows. Produce a short movie or documentary, podcast, interview local people or businesses, start a studio show—whatever your interest, we are here to help you create!  We only ask that you allow us to air your show on JAM cable TV and streaming.  Learn more at Create.
