What are the roles and responsibilities of “the media” in our democracy? What makes a good story? How do we know “truth” in reporting? High school-aged participants will seek answers to these questions and more as active reporters. Choosing current issues of concern to them, participants learn responsible journalistic practices across digital media, including text, podcasting/radio, and TV/streaming. Nationally and locally recognized professionals from the field will share techniques for conducting interviews, verifying sources, evaluating “truth, and making strong creative choices of form and content to achieve engaging storytelling of service to the public.
