Emily was born September 15, 1988 in Nashville TN, the daughter of Roy Fava and Marilyn Welch-Fava. She was a delightful child, full of curiosity and blessed with a brilliant mind and unique sense of humor that she retained throughout her life. In 1992 the family moved to Thetford Center, VT, where Emily attended Thetford Elementary School and Thetford Academy, which she left after her sophomore year. Emily had an innate artistic ability, which she continued to develop independently at home with encouragement from her family. She studied at Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn, NY, briefly took classes in painting and glass blowing at RISD in Rhode Island and later to the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD. Emily returned to Thetford Center and continued to paint and draw until the end of her life in May 2018. The artist lives forever in her work.
